Importance of Music in our daily life.
Humans have always used music to express their emotions, from the first tribal drums to contemporary symphonies. It cuts across linguistic, cultural, and geographic boundaries. You can feel a connection to someone you've never met or get nostalgic for a forgotten memory when you hear a melody.
According to scientific research, music has a direct impact on the limbic system, which is the emotional core of our brain. Music, whether it be jazz, classical, lo-fi, or your favourite devotional song, opens up neural pathways that affect motivation, mood, and even perception. It makes sense that our emotional state is frequently influenced by the music we listen to.
Here's a story- I was doing my regular household chores when I
heard a music beat. Unconsciously, my body started to move with the rhythm. I am pretty sure this has happened to you, too. That energy of the music stayed with me for a few days. It was subconsciously being played in my head. It directly affected my mood and day. I experimented with music, and I tried to manipulate my brain according to the music. The day I listened to sad melodies was the day I felt down; apparently, the day I heard joyous melodies was the day I truly felt happy. You can use music to uplift your mood.
Beyond feelings, however, music also gives disorder structure. Music shapes the invisible atmosphere, turning the ordinary into the beautiful, much like home décor can turn an empty room into a haven.
Our focus, creativity, and energy levels are impacted by music throughout the day. Intentionally adding it to your daily routine can make it more fulfilling and mindful.
The Symphony of Beginnings in the Morning
Play music that awakens your senses to start your day. You can gently transition your mind from the quiet of sleep to the serenity of wakefulness with the help of an instrumental flute, light acoustic guitar, or a soft piano.
According to studies, listening to gentle yet energetic music in the morning can increase alertness and create a positive mood that lasts the entire day. Playing a particular playlist while making your bed or getting ready for breakfast is something you can even make a habit of. Your body will soon use that sound as a signal to "begin again."
The Connection Between Home and Music :
If you have read my previous blogs, you probably know how much I pay attention to the word "home".
The type of music you play can influence the emotional architecture of your house just as carefully as you choose the furnishings and lighting.
The Ambience of Music
Imagine entering a warm, inviting living room with soft lighting, warm tones, and the soft hum of a vinyl record playing in the background. It becomes more than just a visual experience. You are now engaging not only your sense of sight but also your sense of hearing.
A room's character is enhanced by music, which also sets the mood and goes well with the décor. Decor Tip: Set up a comfortable area in your house with a cosy armchair, high-quality speakers, and perhaps some plants as a "listening corner."
